SmokeFreeBloomington.Org is a non-profit Web site created by Monroe Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition partners to help make Bloomington and Monroe County a healthier community. This site contains information regarding the public health risks of smoke and secondhand smoke, tobacco cessation classes and other health and educational resources, and the City of Bloomington and Monroe County's Smoke Free Ordinances. The ordinances are designed to protect the public health and welfare of the community from health hazards induced by breathing secondhand smoke including lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory infections.

Bloomington Local Farmer's Market
- April to November:  8am to 1pm by City Hall
-Farmers and vendors fill Showers Common with locally grown produce, annual and perennial plants, and freshly baked bread for the Saturday morning Market. Local musicians perform while thousands of people find their way among the corn and tomatoes, local dairy products and warm scents of fresh herbs.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

"This federally funded program, run locally by Bloomington Hospital, provides nutritional support for underprivileged mothers and babies in Monroe and Greene Counties. WIC has a direct and important impact on their health, reducing the number of doctor and emergency room visits for women and children and increasing the parenting skills in mothers.To qualify, participants must have nutritional needs, earn less than 185 percent of the poverty level, and live in Indiana. Women who qualify are covered throughout their pregnancy and for an additional year if they are breastfeeding (six months if not breastfeeding). Children are eligible until they turn five.There is no cost to participate in the WIC program. Bloomington Hospital provides a WIC certification and voucher pick-up site in Bloomington at 333 East Miller Drive."
